Job Title: Coffeeshop Supervisor / Head Barista
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Coffee Bar Supervisor to join our team and oversee the smooth operation of our coffee bar. As a Coffee Bar Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the coffee bar, ensuring excellent customer service, supervising staff, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong commitment to delivering an outstanding coffee experience to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall operations of the coffee bar, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and cash handling.
- Supervise and train coffee bar staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Create work schedules and assign tasks to the coffee bar team, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Provide guidance and support to staff members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring prompt and friendly service, resolving customer complaints, and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of coffee and beverage preparations, following established recipes and standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders for coffee beans, supplies, and ingredients, and oversee stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and promote special promotions or events.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for coffee bar staff, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for training and development.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area, equipment, and storage spaces, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new coffee brewing techniques, and specialty coffee offerings, and share knowledge with the team.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a coffee bar or similar food and beverage establishment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or head barista role.
- Extensive knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso-based beverages, and specialty coffee offerings.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in using coffee bar equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and brewers.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
